White kidney bean extract is a 4:1 fine powder extracted from beans of the Phaseolus Vulgaris.

Referred to as a carb blocker, white kidney bean extract contains the active phaseolamine, which inhibits the enzyme alpha amylase, delaying or decreasing the body’s ability to digest carbohydrates. The undigested carbohydrates can then be excreted from the body or fermented into short chain fatty acids, organic acids, carbon dioxide and hydrogen by friendly bacteria in the colon. This causes the ingested carbohydrates to act as a prebiotic.

Phaseolamine is present in many forms of bean, however white kidney beans are a particularly rich source. White Kidney Bean Extract is thought to be capable of reducing body weight and body fat to a similar level as light caloric restriction. Meaning an individual may maintain a reasonable carbohydrate intake but lessen or slow the absorption of refined carbohydrates. The extract should be consumed prior to the main carbohydrate-containing meal of the day.
