What is GFSI?

GFSI stands for Global Food Safety Initiative, it brings together key actors of the food industry to collaboratively drive continuous improvement in food safety management systems around the world. GFSI recognised schemes are supposed to be a sign of quality, therefore should not require extra testing.

GFSI-Recognised Certification Programmes

The below food safety certification programmes are assessed against the GFSI Benchmarking Requirements. Once successfully benchmarked, food safety certification programmes (CPOs) achieve GFSI recognition.

Through this benchmarking process, GFSI continues to provide a rigorous, scientifically based method that recognises competent food safety certification programmes. It allows food businesses to select a food safety management system that is recognised by leading retailers and manufacturers internationally and has itself been exposed to a demanding peer assessment.

Below is an overview of the certification programmes that are currently recognised by GFSI. To use this functionality, click on the scope tab that relates to your activity. The GFSI-recognised certification programmes covering your selection will be generated in the boxes beneath.
