Glucosamine (D) HCL is a white to off-white crystalline powder sourced from natural shrimp or crab shell.

Glucosamine is an amino sugar which is found naturally in the human body and in shellfish. It is present in high concentrations in joint and cartilage tissue. 

It has traditionally been extracted form shells of crustaceans such as crab and shrimp. It mainly comes in two forms Glucosamine HCl and Glucosamine sulfate. Glucosamine HCl is a glucosamine molecule bound to hydrochloric acid and it is the most straightforward form of glucosamine supplementation. Glucosamine sulfate supplementation on the other hand apparently results in higher blood and tissue glucosamine concentration and therefore tends to have a better result.
