Brewer’s yeast is derived from the dried, pulverised cells of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, a type of fungus. It is recovered after being used in the beer-brewing process, but can also be grown specifically for harvest as a nutritional supplement.

Brewers Yeast is an excellent source of all the major B vitamins, with the exception of B12. It also contains other vitamins, including vitamin B2 and B3, sixteen amino acids and at least fourteen minerals, including a biologically active form of chromium.
