Beta alanine is a non-protein amino acid obtained from dietary sources and formed by intestinal bacteria, and is an isomer of Alanine. It is a component of Coenzyme A (and therefore subsequently Vitamin B5), a vital catalyst in the body.

Alanine is an important source of energy for the muscles, brain and central nervous system. It also helps in the metabolism of sugars and organic acids and strengthens the immune system by producing antibodies.

Beta alanine aids in the metabolism of glucose, a simple carbohydrate that the body uses for energy.
